I’m no academic. Have no idea what one of these is called … but I can see it. It’s right behind a beautiful, ornate fountain. The style could be a tea caddy.

There’s much myth and folklore surrounding Kirkstall Abbey. People report being terrified when visiting at night. Lots of ghost hunts take place. It’s an astounding place in Leeds of architectural and historical value. More Here about Kirkstall Abbey. There’s always quirky things going on in Kirkstall!

As soon as we forget to dip our toes in the ocean,
skim stones across ripples, fill our pockets with shells.
When we no longer let sand fall through our fingers like stardust….
‘No more!’ says the sea cloud, carrying a pesky crew of wave fairies ….
For this is a waste, there’s an infinite child within all of us, a magical one that can be found by the waves and fresh sea air …. go find it. For it costs money not. Just believe in magic, it’s hidden in each day and grows stronger by the tide.

Once upon a time, there was disease, poverty, hardship. Also art, decadent armoury, flamboyant decor, regal definition. Nothing much has changed apart from we don’t support our local craftsman to such a degree. Myths, legends, turmoil and battle. Passion lost in today’s consumerism and digital era. History re-told ‘the best unspoken’ … nobody knows the truth … That’s what makes fairy tales. To rescue a Princess, the Knight oh gallant. Or so we are told. It’s lovely to sneak back in time. Artefect, tradition, heritage. Not just here but globally. Let no man destroy it.
